#14: Clam Juice
You know the yucky water left over after you steam some clams? That stuff was bottled for consumers starting in the 1960s and 1970s. Most people used it in seafood chowders and soups, but clam juice also made its way behind the bar. During house parties, the designated bartender mixed clam juice in Bloody Marys and a variation of the Bloody Mary called the Caesar.
