#10: Commodores – “Sail On”
The Commodores is a music band that was most active in the 70s and 80s. After Lionel Richie joined the group, they became much more successful (for obvious reasons). One example of this is the fact that Richie wrote their 1979 hit “Sail On.”
The best way to describe “Sail On” is a ballad with country flavor. In fact, you may be familiar with a later, even more country version of the song that Lionel Richie made with Tim McGraw.
