#11: Dreamscape (1984)
Dreamscape recruits psychic Alex Gardner into a government program that allows telepaths to enter other people’s dreams. What begins as experimental therapy becomes an assassination plot when a presidential nightmare offers access no conventional security system can prevent. The premise demands reinvention. Contemporary sleep science, political manipulation, and immersive nightmare imagery could enrich it enormously. Keep the sinister snake-man, though; some childhood fears have earned permanent employment in any future version of this story again.
