‘Tis but a Scratch
Everyone who works at a restaurant will eventually get cut or burned. That’s just how it is. So, it’s management’s job to establish a set of rules regarding how cuts and burns are treated. After all, nobody wants to eat a plate of food while knowing that the chef might’ve accidentally bled in it.
In this story, it was the waitress who sustained a cut on her finger while bringing the cutlery to the OP’s table. Instead of getting a bandage to stop the bleeding, she just licked her finger, wiped the knife on her apron, then walked away. Then she suffered short-term memory loss and denied every allegation thrown her way.
