#19: Got Any Spare Change?
Even though they have somewhat become redundant, payphones were the way that many people communicated before cellphones made their way into the mainstream. Sure, some people had cellphones when payphones were around, but cellphones were very expensive at that time… So it made sense that payphones were the way to go for a lot of people.
The thing about payphones is that they only operate through the use of coins, which meant that sometimes there would be change hanging around these machines. Loose change might not seem like such an appealing thing these days, but it was very exciting for teenagers once upon a time. There was nothing more thrilling than coming across spare change every once in a while.
