#32: Unreachable
There’s something very convenient about being able to talk to whoever you want, whenever you want, but at the same time, it’s very restricting and obligating. Having a cellphone means you’re always expected to be reachable and available; no excuses. Even if you can’t pick up the phone, you’re expected to text back.
There was a time when being completely unreachable was the norm. You didn’t have to b available all the time, and you weren’t expected to provide people with explanations. Today, not picking up the phone or replying to a text message is considered rude, and it might make people worried.
