The results
The results of the tests were very detailed. They were even able to find traces of food that was stuck between the teeth of the mummies. Specifically, our first mummy had traces of cacao leaves stuck in her gums. That must have meant she was desperately chewing them in order to calm herself.
The other two, smaller mummies had expanded lungs and signs of a cold or illness that probably made it difficult for them to breathe before their death. But one thing was for sure, they were alive and well before they were sacrificed and left to die on the mountain all alone.
