Ramses II
One of the most well-known conquers and Pharaohs of ancient Egypt, Ramses II, was known as The Great One. He ruled his domain for just shy of seventy years and was an effective military leader as well. During his reign, many monuments and structures were built in his honor.
So needless to say, when his body was found it was a big deal for both the scientific community and archaeological bragging rights. He was part of Egypt’s New Kingdom that lasted from 1550-1070 B.C. We really wonder what life was like back then for these people and their society.
