The ruler
Ramses was very tall for an ancient Egyptian, he was over six feet tall in height and lived till about the age of ninety. All these factors were pretty unusual for the common man in the ancient world, making him an interesting specimen. But it appears that the king had some internal pain.
During his life, he too suffered from a bone disease that would make his limbs and joints hard and difficult to be flexible. This means that during the later years of his life, he probably was not the most active fellow and any movement could have given him some intense pain.
