Don’t You Want Me (1981) transformed The Human League into major chart stars. Philip Oakey developed the song after reading a story in a teenage magazine and drew inspiration from A Star Is Born (1954). Susan Ann Sulley joined him for the duet, helping create the group’s biggest hit and a landmark electronic pop single.
