Great books you can’t read because they are lost

The Altan Debter, or Golden Book, was a lost Mongol chronicle connected to the era of Genghis Khan and his successors. Historians believe it contained valuable material not preserved elsewhere. Many Mongol records survived only in limited copies, making them vulnerable to disappearance. Its recovery would greatly improve our understanding of the Mongol Empire.
