#7: English Ivy
Why it’s a problem: Few people may realize just how destructive the English Ivy plant truly can be. With the ability to climb and kill trees, erode buildings, and form monocultures that make for hostile environments for native groundcovers, this one is romantic in looks only.
Plant instead: Pachysandra procumbens (Allegheny Spurge) or Parthenocissus quinquefolia (Virginia Creeper).
