#16: The Unsettling Booms of Seneca Lake
Seneca Lake does not need to show anything unusual to make people look up. It only has to make noise. For generations, residents in the region have reported sudden cannon-like booms, often called the Seneca Guns, rolling across the water without a dependable source. Theories have included atmospheric conditions, seismic activity, distant military noise, and releases of gas beneath the lakebed.
