#17: Encounters with the Loveland Frogmen
Loveland, Ohio, has done what many towns do with a strange old report: it has learned to live with it. The Frogman legend grew from accounts near the Little Miami River, including police sightings in 1972. One officer, Mark Matthews, later suggested that the creature he encountered may have been a large iguana without a tail, a grounded explanation that should have flattened the story. It did not. The name was too memorable, the river setting too good, and the image too odd to vanish completely.
