In a few decades, Mother Nature had transformed what had been neighborhood trash into a sparkling blanket of gems. For the first half of the twentieth century, that’s how residents of Fort Bragg disposed of their household garbage, old appliances, and bottles-they just threw them over the ocean cliffs.
