When you hear a song from the 1980s, it’s often uniquely of its time. The 80s was a wonderful period of musical history when a lot of experimentation was happening by way of electronic instruments and synthesizers which allowed musicians to make totally new sounds. While not all of these forgotten 80s hits are in that synth wave groove, we can’t forget that distinctive 80s sound. We’re here today to reminisce on hits that defined the 80s and are now somewhat forgotten.
#1: Wouldn’t It Be Good – Nik Kershaw
Part of Nik Kershaw’s debut album Human Racing, “Wouldn’t It Be Good” became one of the synth singer’s most popular tunes. “Wouldn’t It” was released in January 1984, and it even appeared in the Anthony Edwards film Gotcha! In 1985.

Although it didn’t break any records, it was a top-played song for a while in the UK, the United States, and around the world. The highest it got on any chart was #2 in West Germany and Ireland. Kershaw’s song also managed to hit 46 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
