Conditions Relating to the Skin as Well as Other Ailments
Homeless persons are more likely to contract skin diseases, including venous stasis disease and scabies, because they are unable to bathe on a consistent basis. Body lice and scabies are also common skin problems among homeless people. To make matters even more complicated, they may develop foot problems such as tinea pedis, immersion foot, corns and calluses as a result of frequent walking, exposure to moisture, or wearing shoes that are not appropriate for their feet.
Homeless people have an increased likelihood of developing diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis A, B, and C, among other infectious disorders. Cindy’s conscience was burdened by all of this, which is why she felt driven to extend a hand to this one man in particular. Cindy felt compelled to help him because he was the only one who needed it.
