#7: Light Restrictions Preserve Constitution Drafts
Original drafts of the U.S. Constitution are exposed to carefully limited light levels, often only for short viewing periods. Ultraviolet and even visible light can gradually fade ink and weaken paper fibers. As a result, some documents are rotated off display or shown under dim conditions. What may seem like subdued lighting is actually a deliberate preservation strategy.
