Alongside guitarist Johnny Marr, Morrissey created the definitive British indie band of the 80s, releasing classic tracks like “How Soon Is Now?” in 1984. He loved performing his poetry on stage, but he hated the commercial nature of the music industry. He used his interviews to criticize record companies and mainstream media.
