It doesn’t seem like a big deal when a young woman in a fun outfit is slicing her birthday cake! It Shows a different side of Iranian history for women. The right to vote, freedom to wear what they wanted, and service in parliament and on local councils were all available to women before 1979.
Every aspect of life changed after the revolution, including women’s rights. Women are now subjected to a slew of restrictions, including the requirement to wear a headscarf in public.
