During World War II, the Manhattan Project created the first nuclear weapons. George Koval, an American-born Soviet agent, worked inside the program and secretly passed key information to Moscow. His actions helped the Soviet Union test a bomb in 1949, speeding up the Cold War nuclear race between global superpowers.
