#16: Zester/Microplane
A zester can be used for more than zesting lemons and limes. This handy tool grates parmesan and other hard cheeses, as well as ginger, nutmeg, and garlic. Most people make the mistake of pushing too hard on the zester. It is better to use firm, even pressure.
