#8: Lucille Ball
There’s no denying that Lucille Ball, the fiery-haired queen of comedy, could make even the most serious person snort with laughter… The original queen of sitcoms, a pioneer who proved that women could be hilarious, charming, and utterly unforgettable.
Ball started out her career as a model and small-time actor on Broadway and sometimes even on the big screen. She knew that her calling in life was to be an entertainer, but it wasn’t until she and her husband created the sitcom I Love Lucy in 1951 that Ball became a real hit at age 40.
