#20: Tapati Rapa Nui – Chile
Tapati Rapa Nui is the most important cultural festival on Easter Island, Chile. Held annually during the first two weeks of February, it honors the traditions of the Rapa Nui people across the island, mainly in Hanga Roa and Anakena Beach. At its heart is a real competition between two clans, with members vying in physical, artistic, and cultural challenges to earn points for their chosen queen. From the extreme Haka Pei downhill race to moai carving, traditional dance, and body painting, the festival turns the island into a vibrant stage of community pride.
