#21: Full Metal Jacket (1987)
There’s a myth surrounding Stanley Kucrick’s 1987 film Full Metal Jacket, according to which actor R. Lee Ermey improvised all of his lines. The true story is actually better. Kucrick’s secretary typed up different insults that Ermey yelled on set, which Kucrick then rearranged into the script, which Ermey later memorized. So, he’s had a bigger part in the movie than most of us realize.
