Dress codes were serious. Girls had to kneel in front of teachers who checked skirt length. If it did not touch the floor, you were sent home or forced to change. It was strict and a bit embarrassing.

Students got used to these checks even though they felt unfair. Many remember standing in a hallway line waiting for approval. Today, rules still exist, but the old method of measuring skirts has faded away.
