#49: Snowbirds Are Coming
There’s one more thing Florida is well known for, along with the alligators and the hurricanes and the booze and Florida Man, and that is it is a popular destination for snowbirds. A snowbird, if you’re not aware, is a person—usually older and retired—who has a home somewhere else but moves south to a warm locale every winter.
Personally, I think being a snowbird sounds awesome—I hate being cold and shoveling my drive—and I’m looking forward to someday being able to pack up my stuff and follow the sun. And if the Floridians are mad about people flooding in when winter hits—well, maybe they should have thought of that before they decided to live in a tropical paradise. Even if it is a paradise filled with alligators.
