One thing to know about Gen X is that they are the mixtape generation. They spent hours crafting perfectly curated mixtapes for their friends and crushes. A skill like that doesn’t die. Most Gen Xers are still at it today, although making a “mixtape” is a little bit different in the 21st century. 

Even though Gen X is well aware that they’re called “playlists” now, they’re not giving up the lingo. A specially-made music mix will always and forever be called a mixtape. Just accept it.
