#20: Maine Says What?
I had to read this phonetically four times before I could decipher it. In English, it reads, “You need to push very hard.” Hopefully, this isn’t an assistance button near a tourist attraction, or people might never get the help they need! If they’ve watched enough Wicked Tuna, they may be able to figure it out.
The accents from Maine derive from some of the earliest settlers in America. The speech patterns come from London, Lancashire, and Yorkshire. It makes me wonder if they could understand the thick accents across the pond. I bet Brits would feel right at home in Maine!
