Drowning in Emails
Every single day, Forrest’s was bombarded by hundreds, if not thousands, of emails from people who were begging him for more clues. Some of these senders even sent threats to him and his family, warning him of bad things to come if he didn’t reveal the locations of his treasure chest.
A minority of people actually offered to bribe him. If he told them where it was, they’d give him a portion of the treasure, a new car, etc., etc., etc. As a popular figure in Santa Fe, people knew where his gallery was and where he lived. Things got so bad for Forrest and Peggy that on more than one occasion, they actually had to call the police to help them out.
