Responsibility
Forrest revealed in an interview that he felt no responsibility for the loss of lives that took place for the hunt of his treasure chest. However, he did feel responsible for helping in the rescue missions. When Randy went missing, he chartered a helicopter for three days to look for the man, which cost him upwards of $9,000.
He opened up his bank account to hire more rescuers to search in places government officials couldn’t or wouldn’t. Due to his age and lack of physical strength, he couldn’t climb the moment to help in person, but he was more than willing to pay any cost to bring lost treasure hunters back.
