The East Idaho Stagecoach Robbery
East Idaho News reported that somewhere in the area, there’s a treasure that’s potentially worth millions of dollars in pure gold. This legend started in 1865 when an Overland Stage Line stagecoach was ambushed by the Picket Corral Gang.
This gang had a history of robbing stagecoaches and walking away with all sorts of valuables. Though notorious in their own right, there’s no documented evidence that shows this particular robbery taking place. But that still hasn’t stopped hunters from trying to uncover the stolen goods from multiple stagecoaches. Some locals claim that the loot is buried somewhere in the Portneuf Canyon.
