The Thrill of the Chase
In 2010, immediately after he hid his treasure chest somewhere atop the Rocky Mountains, Forrest released his memoirs titled The Thrill of the Chase. In the book, he spoke about how he’d hidden a treasure chest somewhere for the public to find, if they were interested in taking home pure gold nuggets and precious gemstones.
However, Forrest wasn’t going to let them search blindly across the US. He left his reader a 24-line poem that offered slight details of where they could find his treasure. Almost immediately, the treasure hunting community was in a frenzy in search of Forrest’s fabled loot.
