#15: Passengers (2008) — Jim Is Actually the Horror-Movie Villain
Passengers presents Jim and Aurora as the center of a science-fiction romance, but one fan reinterpretation simply changes perspective. Jim deliberately wakes Aurora from hibernation because he is lonely, condemning her to die decades before reaching her destination. Viewed entirely through her experience, he becomes a stranger who secretly steals her future and then pursues her romantically. The events do not change at all; only framing does. Suddenly, the charming space romance looks disturbingly close to psychological horror.
