#17: Back to the Future (1985) — Doc Brown Expected to Die
During the first DeLorean demonstration, Doc Brown sends the car directly toward himself and Marty at 88 mph. He does not move. Fans therefore wonder whether Doc was secretly suicidal, perhaps convinced decades of failed inventions had culminated in another disaster. If the time machine worked, triumph; if not, instant death. The movie treats the scene as comic confidence, and Doc’s behavior later hardly supports the theory. Still, rewatching that parking-lot test suddenly becomes considerably more alarming.
