21. But Their Dreams Live On
These are two names you have surely heard of. Martin Luther King was a famous leader of the Civil Rights Movement in the 60s who led peaceful protests against Jim Crow laws and other forms of discrimination in the US South. He was assassinated in 1968 at the age of 39.
Anne Frank, made famous for the publishing of her diary documenting her family hiding out in Amsterdam during the World War II German occupation, was born in the same year as MLK but tragically died at an even younger age. Her family was arrested in 1944, and she died in a concentration camp less than a year later.
