Full Blown Emergency
As soon as the mother bear set foot in the water, she became aware that she had done something incorrectly. Even though they paddled and treaded water as hard as they could, her cubs were soon carried away by the swift currents of the Vyg, which were freezing cold. The swiftly moving water soon overpowered her cubs.
Because the mother bear’s cubs were carried away by the waters and brought to the depths of the lake in the middle of what had been intended to be a brief crossing of the lake, the situation that had been planned as a brief crossing had turned into a full-blown emergency for the bear.
