Both Shakespeare’s original tragedy and Romeo + Juliet (1996) rely on a failed message reaching Romeo too late. With texting, video calls, or messaging apps, Juliet could quickly explain her plan. Modern communication would likely prevent one of literature’s most famous misunderstandings.
