Spider-Man publisher J. Jonah Jameson was inspired by Stan Lee. Lee admitted that the loud and demanding newspaper editor was an exaggerated version of himself. During the growth of Marvel Comics in the 1960s, Lee’s energetic public persona became almost as famous as many of his characters.
