Continuing the theme of memorable Holocaust films, how could we not mention Schindler’s List? This gut-wrenching film is based on the account of Oskar Schindler and hundreds of other Jewish survivors that he saved from their inevitable fate. Another movie by Spielberg goes into intense detail about the cruelty of the Nazis and the shocking indifference to the fate of the Jewish people.
This truly remarkable story follows one man’s refusal to ignore the hundreds of workers in his employment and countless others. This Best Picture Winner set a new standard for such films, taking the audience through one of the darkest moments of human history.
