#23: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)
In this film, the two female children, Violet and Veruca, exhibit personality traits that are the opposite of the traits that are valued and emphasized in young girls. During the era in which the movie was made, traditional gender expectations stated that young girls should be ladylike, polite, and obedient, however, Veruca is self-centered and demanding and Violet is entitled, mean, and impolite.
