Fairy Incaps like to grow in groups
Here’s a mushroom that doesn’t want to be alone. The fairy caps are never seen alone because they grow in colonies, as can be seen from the photograph. These mushrooms may be found in British woods or even throughout Europe.
Though they are edible, these tiny mushrooms aren’t widely eaten because they lack substance. You would need to eat quite a few of them to feel full–they only measure 1-3 cm. If you’re curious to see these delicate little fungi, the best time to look for them is between August and November.
