How is this apple tree growing?
There is something odd with this tree. Only one branch grows apples, whereas the other side looks dead. How? Well, because of grafting! It may be time to retake your biology class.
Grafting is the art of combining two or more plants in order to have them grow as one. This results in genetically unique hybrid plants containing characteristics from all of the plant species combined. It’s what you get when a tree gets grafted!
