When we’re young, often, we don’t think too deeply about the lives of those around us. It doesn’t make us bad people; in fact, I would argue that it doesn’t even make us selfish. Kids are simply self-focused and tend to take many things for granted without giving much thought to what’s happening with others – especially older relatives.
