Babies With Eyeliner
Don’t be alarmed if you see a newborn in India with eyeliner on their eyes. It’s called kajal (also Surma or Kohl), an antique eye cosmetic in the country. Kajal, unlike streamline eyeliner, is created from soot instead of a plethora of artificial pigments and hues.
The baby’s lower lid is covered in eyeliner, protecting the infant from evil eyes. Some people believe this is beneficial to the baby’s eyesight, but there isn’t any scientific evidence to support it.
