Misty May-Treanor
The fact that Misty May-Treanor, who was born and bred in sunny Los Angeles, is one of the top beach volleyball players in the country shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone. Her first competition occurred when she was only 8 years old, and she went on to play with the Long Beach State 49ers throughout both high school and college. She began her career in the sport when she was just 8 years old.
She was honoured as the game’s Most Valuable Player in 1998 after setting a tournament record with 20 service aces and helping her team to become the first team in NCAA history to go unbeaten while competing. At the present time, she lives in Florida with her three girls and her husband, Matt Treanor, who is a professional baseball player.
