Skylar Diggins-Smith
As a member of the Phoenix Mercury of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), Diggins-Smith is a professional basketball player from the United States. The Fighting Irish qualified for the Final Four three years in a row thanks in large part to Diggins-Smith, who was a standout player for the team. She was so impressive on the court that Notre Dame awarded her the Nancy Lieberman Award, the university’s highest possible honour, not once but twice in recognition of her achievements.
She made history in 2013 when she became the first female athlete to sign with Roc National Sports. That year marked the beginning of her legacy. In the later half of that year, she began her role as a brand ambassador for Nike, in which she was responsible for promoting various Nike products.
