Yulia Efimova
When Yulia Efimova was only six years old, her father, Andrey Yefimov, took her swimming for the first time. Together, they enjoyed their time in the water. In 2011, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she began working out with Dave Salo, the head coach of the USC Trojans at the time. Salo is now the head coach of the USC Trojans.
Efimova is a member of the Russian national swimming team who has come under fire for the use of performance-enhancing drugs, which are prohibited in competitive sports at the professional level. She won the World Championship at the 50-meter distance six times and held the world record at one point.
