Did anyone else go through a horse phase when they were a kid? Mine was when I was about 12 years old and I had gotten really into Enya, and I wanted to have a horse I could ride through the woods and look all noble and majestic like some ancient fairy queen. But, like most kids, I had no access to horses and knew nothing about them.

So it took me a really long time to figure out what a pony was, too. It doesn’t help that my only exposure to ponies when I was young was My Little Pony, which made ponies look tiny and cute and magical… not unlike a baby horse would be.
