Okay, there are two possibilities here: one is that this person never plays Minesweeper, so the few times that they had had reason to take a glance at the game, or see a screenshot, they have just been baffled about how it all works.

The alternative is that they’ve been playing Minesweeper for years, but without understanding how it actually works, so they’re just clicking on squares at random and hoping not to be blown up. Which is probably what many people do. I just love the mental image of them getting angrier and angrier and saying “How does anyone enjoy this game?”
